Took my bike out today (it's always garaged in Cove btw). Started up first time no problem, went to work in Altens.
At 5pm started it up again no problem got to Shirlaws and stopped it for about 5-10 mins Max (Billy-Ray) then it wouldn't start and I hadn't left the keys in it. Bumped it went from Shirlaws to McGowans in heavy traffic so it was all low speeds/low revs.
Stopped again and had to bump it again travelled a few more miles again mostly low speeds and low revs and it cut out on me as I was stopping for a red light (on Market STD at 6pm of all places!), doing around 5mph bumped it again and got home used jump leads to start it started fine.
Can anyone think how I can pinpoint the problem? Oh and by the way the battery was new at the end of February and I've done less than 1000miles since then.

I was thinking that, dudd battery or a short circuit draining it as there is no alarm on it. Thing is I'm not too sure how to check for these things. Anyone able to help?

Handy. Might be worth asking if there's someone at work who can help you out with testing too.
Basically, get the bike started and idling. Set the multimeter to Volts DC and put the probes across the battery terminals. You should see at least 13v, probably more. If it's less then the regulator / rectifier isn't putting out enough juice to charge the battery.
If you are getting a good supply of power then there's a chance you've got a short. Set your meter to amps and disconnect the battery negative. Put your probes onto the battery negative and the wire you've just removed. You should be getting a very low current flowing, can't remember off hand but less than 0.5 amps rings a bell. If it's significantly more than that then you've got a short and something's drawing power when it shouldn't be.
See how you get on with that.
