shock refurbishing
Is there a company locally that refurbishes monoshocks? I mean a reputable company, there are a few online, but I like to use local companies were possible.

K-Tech, MH Racing or Hagon are the only companies I can recommend...looked locally but did not have any luck.

Yes, I could not find someone local....pity...but I got hold of a company that specialises in rebuilding bike shocks...mainly for racing, but happy enough to do road shocks, and set the shock up to your wieght and riding style, so I have sent off my rear shock to them, 2 year guarantee on it when returned, so i will post here when it's done and let you know what sort of job has been done.

Got my shock back and fitted....all I can say is Wow...incredible...done up better than a new shock, the back end of the zzr 1100 is as stable as hell...unbelivable difference!

Re: shock refurbishing
Right...I rebuilt the front end myself with progressive springs and an alteratuion in fork oil. The rear shock I sent to Brook racing @ www.brookracing.co.uk
The turn round time was 8 days. Standard refurbishment is £85 + £10.00 P+P. I needed a bit more than that, in fact I knew BEFORE I sent the shock off so I paid an extra £75.00. I sent the shock by 1st class royal mail, it was returned by 'next day courier' You have to inform the company of your wieght and riding style...and they certainly do set it up to that. You also get a 2 year guarantee. This appears to be a good alternative to facing up to the price of a new shock...I'll let you all know over time!

Re: shock refurbishing
Just to update on this...the rear shock is amazing, it exceeds my demands totally...in future when I need a shock I'll definately go back to this company.

Did Baxter badger you for a shot of your ZX12 yet? He seems to have his heart set on one since seeing yours

Na...thought he might, and he could take for a blast if he wants....he certainly seems to be struck on the bike...as I am! Think I upset a Harley rider today, I may have gone over the speed limit by a mile an hour or so to overtake him and some cars. When I stopped further on he was shaking his head as he went by!!Sgoaty wrote:Did Baxter badger you for a shot of your ZX12 yet? He seems to have his heart set on one since seeing yours
