I have decided to get a paint jobby done on my R.6. Mike Stuart is doing the job and I have decided to go for a Rossi Rep, but red rather than blue. See below
I got the wheels off today, so I popped in past Mr Sillets and got the rubber removed then dropped the wheels off at Finesse to get powdercoated white. I should get my wheels back next Friday. So today I went on a mad spending spree. Cush drive rubbers needed replaced, so got a set off ebay for £26.00. I have decided against putting rim tape on so I bought wheel decals (all red letter, but the "R" will be black)
I found a really good website for bearings http://www.bikebearings.co.uk full bearing kit for £46.00. I have decided to keep my original seat cowl so I bought a new one from powerbronze for £62.99. Mike is going to service the bike so I was looking for a service kit got K&N Air & Oil Filter off ebay for £54.00, fuel filter for £6.00 and 4 x NGK iridium ix spark plugs for £18.00 again off ebay. So hopefully the bike will be ready by the end of the month

No keeping the same lid.
Update
Ordered the bearings on Monday and they arrived on Wednesday, very good service. Two items arrived today, fuel filter & cush drive rubbers very unusually as they came from eBay (user - bikebusiness). So just waiting for the filters and rim stickers to arrive. I also bought clear headlight lens covers as my headlight have a few scrapes, again off eBay.

all the best with your project
Cheers JT. Just looking forward to seeing the finished article. I wanted something different, so rather than the usual blue rossi rep I wanted it red. I can't see many having the same paint job.
K&N Air & Oil Filters arrived today, also wheel decals & headlight lens covers. Finesse phoned to say the wheels are ready, so picked them up and dropped them off at Mike's to get the new bearings fitted. Once the new bearings are in and the brake disc's are back on its then down to Mr Sillet to get my rubbers back on. Once the wheels are back on the bike the paint jobby will begin.
Yamahahaha.
I used Finesse years ago to get a swing arm powder coated a silver gray colour. They did a superb job but the colour I thought was a bit flat.
How did your white wheels turn out ?
I'll be getting mine done the same colour as yours and am wondering how they'll look.
(Didn't bag off the brake line when I took the caliper offshore with me for a rebuild. Fluid on the rim for 3 weeks and you'll guess what happened next )

What did Finesse charge you for both wheels ?
Wheels look really good. They charged me £110 for 2 wheels and the hub carrier.
Wheels have been rebuilt, so off to Mr Sillets to get my rubbers back on. Once the wheels are back on the bike the painting will begin. Should have a painted bike by next week, hopefully.
Ye I had a look at your link. Your supplying good info here min
I'll be getting prices from there whenever I come to do the wheels. Nae idea when that'll be. Probably next winter but the bike will still be used this year. (Hope AberdeenBikers keep it slow for me on the viffer when I make my inaugural run)
I got one of the swing arm bearings from Scott bearings in Aberdeen. Can't remember how much it was but will probably get prices there too.
The other bearing was a non standard size (good old Honda ) and I ordered it through McGowans.
Again can't remember how much but do remember thinking OUCH.
Get some of that paint protection film for the leading edges of your fairings. I had a bike that was painted and it chipped like a MOFO. A lot more than normal.
Not a race rep fan myself (although I did own one ) but it should look tidy from what youve said. At least there wont be another on the go....you hope.
