Data tool Veto Plus Decommissioning

Hey folks

I currently have a data tool veto plus immobilizer / alarm fitted to my bike. I have only one key fob at present due to a loss of the other one. I am worried the only fob may be close to failing / being accidently lost, As you know an armed bike with no means to disarm is a nightmare situation.

I have been in contact with Data tool and had it confirmed that my veto plus 413Mghz key fobs are discontinued and very hard come by on the second hand market. This has lead me to the thought of decommissioning the unit (leaving it installed but permanently turned off)

I Have phoned our wonderfully merciless friends at Ecosse and have been quoted around £200, Which i am not willing to pay for what i believe may be a simple job.

Has any one else had any experience with disarming alarm systems? I wouldn't know where to start... (the unit was professionally wired in by an alarm specialist in england)

I cant find a quote for less than £80-£90 to snip the wire so if you think you can help I am all ears!

(I am just not brave when it comes to electricals im afraid.)
