Will no doubt walk into some limp wristed comments here......
Broke my wrist snowboarding around 6 weeks ago and recently got the cast off.
Looking for advice on supports suitable for my right wrist to still allow decent throttle control. Don't want a support that is too rigid.
Ideally, this support would also be suitable for mountain biking.
Anyone have any recommendations?
Cheers!

Personally used the elastoplast range you get from boots for my elbow and my knee in the past and never had issues so would try the wrist one. Just take it out of box and try it to see if it suits

stay away from any mountain bike/motor bike for at least 16weeks
bone will be no where near strong enough, even with support... broke my shoulder and collar bone in august, i was off for 5 month, my last break of my arm and wrist i was off for 16weeks, when i was younger i broke my wrist and was told no bikes for at least 12 weeks, felt ok, back on bike soon as plaster was off, some 20yr later i still feel it..

Give it a chance to heal properly. That's your braking hand/arm so not worth taking the risk IMHO.
Just do the recommended physio etc. otherwise you will prolong the healing time.
I rushed things when I broke my foot in three places in 2009 an it is still sore to walk on now. A constant reminder not to be a fanny.

Re: Broken Wrist... Support advice
At least it got diagnosed properly. I came of my mountain bike in 2011 and they thought I has torn my cruciate ligament so had me straight back on my feet and exercising. I was in severe pain all the time and could barely put any weight on it.
I got an MRI done at week 10 and the results from that back 2 weeks later only for them to tell me that the ligaments were fine but there was evidence of a fracture. They took another x-ray which confirmed that. They just dismissed me after that saying that it was healing and there was nothing more they could do.
I've now been left with a leg I can't fully straighten and because of that it is difficult to keep the leg/knee strong so have knee pain to go along with the foot pain.
Good old NHS.

Re: Broken Wrist... Support advice
Pretty gutted at the thought of being off the bikes for up to 16 weeks as huffanpuff has said.
As it is the right hand, I do want make sure its pretty solid again so I can put weight through it for holding the bars, going to give it a a bit longer before i try anything.
Bought one of the 'powerballs' a few days ago, seems to be helping on movement and its pretty tiring at the moment building the muscle back.

They diagnosed it as a sprain and wouldn't x-ray it even though i told them it was broken (broke my left wrist 14 years ago), had to go back a week later and get them to check it out and sure enough an inch long crack in the radius.Big Kneed Al (master of the emergency stop & "stand up" comedian) wrote:At least it got diagnosed properly.
