I took the naked supersports to Dundee for a service on Friday. Second wettest I've ever been.

Last Friday evening I had a run from Ballater to Alford.
The rain managed to defeat my textiles

Last time that happened was returning from a west coast run a few years ago, the wetness was noticed at Aviemore when we stopped for a bit of lunch.
I think the reason for that defeat was operator error and not ensuring the zips/poppers/gutters/Velcro were all aligned correctly.

There is a chance that last Fridays wetness many have been operator error, again.

I took the naked supersports to Dundee for a service on Friday. Second wettest I've ever been.

The wettest I've ever been was on a 10 day bike tour. We stopped mid way through a 250 mile run at a cafe and I drained a good half pint of water out of each boot. I was wearing off-road armour etc with no water proofs at all.

But it wasn't too cold....

So expert, that last week I managed to get proper soaked two days running wearing my jeans and leather jacket

Bikers are expert and planning and preparation...and when we do look at the forecast, like today when the temperature should have been in the teens…numpty here donned in jeans and leather jacket jumped onto the bike and headed to work

While walking to the bike I was thinking “this is not as warm as I thought”

While pottering down the driveway a 30mph I was thinking “this is really not warm at all”

When I hit 50 mph I was thinking “its fooooooking freezing” and switched on the heated grips

After a couple of miles at 55mph I thought “feck this”, turned the bike around and headed home…got rid of the leather jacket and put on a textile one.

Things were a lot more acceptable at 59 mph for the run to work

But ffs, the seventh of August, needing to wrap up and have the heated grips on
