Rain V's Jeans
So, when cought in the rain wearing jeans, is it best to speed up to reduce the time in the rain, or slow down so the rain does not drive into the jeans so hard ?

Re: Rain V's Jeans
Speeding up increases drag and thus air deflection at the front of the bike forcing more rain sideways and away from your legs. Doesn't work on every bike but it does on many.
An old KLR 600 I had would keep me perfectly dry from the waist down so long as I stayed above 60mph.

Believe Mythbusters did this. Think they concluded it doesn't make a difference.

All depends upon the bike. No way could you say it didn't make a difference on my KLR600.Gypsum_Fantastic wrote:Believe Mythbusters did this. Think they concluded it doesn't make a difference.
Similarly, try sitting at the traffic lights on a tourer and compare how wet you get to when you are cruising.

Aye wasn't on bikes but running as opposed to walking I think. Was interesting!
