Nippy...
Things are nippy this week, so on Monday I fitted the thermal liner and storm collar to my winter jacket.

It was proper nippy this morning!Dave wrote:Things are nippy this week, so on Monday I fitted the thermal liner and storm collar to my winter jacket.
I was very glad of all my heated gear.
The weather conditions didn't stop a couple of car drivers driving a few feet off of my back tyre. Flashing the hazards a couple of times just seemed to make them drive closer. In the end I pulled over to the side of the road to let them past so they didn't run me over if I fell. When I got going again they were doing the same speed as me anyway so why drive so loving close in the first place!

Re: Nippy...
It was a tad icy this morning. Taking the bike wasn't one of the best ideas I've ever had.
Thankfully the Michelin Pilot 4's seemed to be able to find grip where my boots couldn't!
A very canny ride with no sudden moves keeping as much weight as I could though the footpegs to keep the COG low and let the bike move under me if it wanted to.

Re: Nippy...
I remember falling off on black ice whilst turning the corner into college many decades ago.
A lollipop lady, right before the entrance to the corner look at me as I picked up the bike and said....
"You're the fourth person to do that this morning"
I replied to the effect of "A little bit of warning to approaching motorcycles would be nice", but my language probably wasn't so polite at the time.
She could have easily put the lollipop out for example.
Today it would never happen either...
Because they'd have their mobile phone going to catch all the action for Liveleak

Re: Nippy...
I pulled rank and took the Aygo today. The main roads were "OK" but the side roads, especially the roads near my home, were like glass.

Re: Nippy...
Couple of bikes on Newmachar to Dyce road yesterday morning -4 degrees as I took my Son to nursery...... also a couple of bikes parked at a company I visited in Portlethen mid morning.
I took a flyer off my Aunty's steps mid afternoon, so close to smacking my head on the steps which would have been lights out for me..... I'm a tad sore today, felt OK yesterday
