I know we're all law abiding citizens here who would never consider exceeding the speed limits, but just in case, here's the changes coming in 24th April this year.
Potentially nasty fines...
In conjunction with the biker who has been jailed for doing 149mph on a clear bit of road, my colour blindness seems to have worsened - blue lights sometimes look orange to me.

The law is an ring piece in those circumstances. It's like when you see those "police camera action type" shows and the people driving without insurance, a licence, etc. are handed a driving ban.
According to that, 101 miles and hour is not a ban for any great length of time as it used to be.. In some respects thats a bonus for those doing those speeds and of whom can afford to loose a weeks wages.
It's worth remembering that this relates to speeding only. If there's any scope for the boys in blue to try and prosecute for careless or dangerous driving the sentences are more severe. If you're going to speed make sure your driving is otherwise squeaky clean. They'll usually add careless or dangerous if the speed is grossly in excess of the limit regardless.
