indicators not flashing

Post by speedaddictedberk »

Hi, i'm re-building my 85 gpz600r, all the electrics etc are in, and it runs, but when you switch on the indicator (either side) they come on but dont flash. i've put a new relay in with no difference. any other ideas?

Check the resistors.

If memory serves they use a fixed resistance to govern the flash rate

:eek Surely if it was the fuse they wouldn't come on at all. Didn't they teach you any electronics in primary school? :roll

i thought it was the resistance of the bulbs that did the flash rate (flashes faster when a bulb is out).

too high a load will cause the indicators to stay on for a long time. Have you left them for a while to see if they eventually go out??

umm, right, well.....

so Rossi was round before a friday run, and while we were waiting for Zax, i mentioned the Gpz prob, and about 4 seconds later he suggested plugging in the front indicators too :oops

cos i was thinking that they'd flash faster due to the lower load (like car ones do).

bugger. :oops :oops
