Looking to get a pair but I can't find anyone who has used them.
Also, the Yanks in the Suzuki Katana (GSXF) club seem to swap to a 120/60, 160/60 combination on the "Katana" and say it improves handling no end...but i am a bit iffy about it as it is a 9mm drop in rear tyre and a 12 mm drop on the front.

So what's the problem then??Backs 400 wrote:Because I called Silletts and he said that he now stocks the 208 as the 207 has been superceded and they were £150 a pair...did not have or would not sell me the 207's...depending on how you view his reply :I can't believe it's not butter! ...if that makes sense?

This is Dunlops current line up -
http://www.dunlopmotorcycle.com/tirecat ... y.asp?id=1
They don't do a 120 front with a 60 profile in the RR's and it will be quite hard to get hold of the plain 207 so what's the problem with the 208??

I never said that you did, I was just pointing out that they don't do the RR in the profile you want.Backs 400 wrote:I dont want RR's ??????
Did you actually click on the link I posted???? It has the latest range on it.Backs 400 wrote:The problem with 208's is that i don't know anyone who has used them....and the website only has the GP's..something else i dont want. I presume they are fine, and probably better than 207's...just wondering...especially about the profiles.
If you, however, went to the UK site you will see that the page was last updated in 2001 so is a tad out of date and only lists the D208GP's
From the looks of it the D208's are a cross between the D207's and the D207RR's so should be good.
I've ridden a D207 shod GSXR600 on the road and a D207RR shod Mille on the track and was impressed with both. If it means anything to you I think I'll be going for the standard D208's in a couple of months so will let you know how they are.

ME! ME! ME!
I've had 208s on the VFR for about 1500 miles now. They seem to work well as far as I can see (quite far).
Depends what you want, I'd say 208's are pitched at the same market as 010s. They won last as long as 020s but if your getting them cheap enough it doesn't matter as much. On the VFR I'd reckon 3500 - 4000 miles for 208s and 5000 - 6000 miles for 020s.

Cheers Dickie...the 020's are bloody expensive in town unfortuantly. Might have to go a little further afield, but I really want the tyres today
Looks like its the 208's then.
Big Kneed Al (master of the emergency stop & "stand up" comedian), I had already checked that Dunlop site, but only to see there recommended fitment for the "Kat". They say 205's, but the size they recommend, according to there charts, is for a 3.5-4 inch rim. My rear is a 4.5 inch rim!????? Talk about confusing!

Got em!...D208's, £150 a pair from Silletts. Went for the lower profiles too...even unscrubbed the tyres feel less skittery...and the bike seems to turn much nicer. I put a few miles on them and the bike feels much more stable. So far...a good choice me thinks.
Big Kneed Al (master of the emergency stop & "stand up" comedian), I'll keep you posted if thats what you are going for....

Goos reports...thats almost as good a spelling mistake as in your Bandit site :I can't believe it's not butter!
Did about 30 miles last night, very sure footed over white lines etc...none of the shaking I was getting before. Even clipping white lines in corners the bike just tracked true. The steering is much quicker too, hence clipping white lines to start with!..I can't believe it's not butter!

Thought I'd dig this one up to give anyone who cares an update.
Done about 2200 miles on them now and the rear looks like it's probably got about 500 miles left. I might be able to squeeze a few more miles than that but I've got a thousand mile weekend coming up in a couple of weeks and there's no way they would last that long.
They rear has worn quite evenly, it hasn't squared of too much but it's getting near the wear indicators. The front looks fine, I'd hope to get at least a couple of thousand more out of that.
I'll get Silletts to put on a new rear. It's only £90 fitted according to the website.

I have done just over 1000 on mine. Wearing very well indeed, still sure footed, still give plenty of confidence, and go a bonny blue!
Only complaint is that under heavy braking, the front becomes a bit vague, but that is more likely to be a combination of 211kg and bendy forks :)
Getting a second pair (£155) for the ZXR.
