Needing to bleed my front brakes and planning on bleeding my clutch fluid at the same time. . .

Take your time as the clutch on the VTR can be a bitch to bleed!

I would recommend cleaning your caliper pistons at the same time. If your brakes are feeling spongy then that will be the most likely cause, especially if the brake fluid is still pretty clear.

:oops I had a stupid woolly thing over the reservoir, it hadn't been checked in a while, it's certainly not clear! :oops

I'll get it sorted tomorrow though. . .

Should I be looking to source a brake bleeding kit for the clutch side or is it possible without it?

As far as brake bleeding kit goes all you need is a milk bottle or clear jar and a small lenght of clear tubing from B&Q that will fit onto a bleed nipple. You dip one end of the tube into the bottle & pour in some brake fluid into the bottom to cover the end of the tube. That should help prevent air being sucked back in.

If you want to wait till the weekend you can bring your bike round here and I'll talk you through it and show you how to clean up your calipers at the same time.

Dont go buying any tubing! Still have meters and meters of fish tank tubing that will do the trick no bother! :roll

shizzle, never thought of that. . . Got it sorted last night and bled the brakes today!

Turned out to be easier and involve less fluid than I anticipated :cool

Thanks anyway Angie :2up
