Just read this on MCN webshite.
One of the best WSB rounds there is as well. Pity.
Seems that FGS who run WSB wanted twice as much money for taking the event to Brands in 2009.

Personally i think its terrible that Brands Hatch might not be hosting WSBK in 2009 . In my opinion the racing has always been great at that circuit an it gives the british fans a chance to see thier heroes up close instead of on the tv . I really hope thier is a change of heart which will allow WSBK to carry on racing there

Other than getting in and out of the circuit, I think Brands is the best circuit in the UK. You can see a good bit of the short circuit from most anywhere and the atmosphere with 120,000+ fans is fantastic. Losing the WSB race is a big shame.
Donington is good too, easier to get to and more centrally located. It's also a great place to camp and party. But it doesn't do it for me in the same way as Brands. Hopefully it will improve now that F1 is of there for 2010.
