Biking plans for 2014...

Post by Dave »

Biking plans for 2014...

I plan to end the year with the bikes I have started the year with :biggrin2

I had hoped to bike to Tromso in northern Norway with a friend who is getting married there...but his wife-to-be has said "NO" to him doing that run just before the wedding.
What makes things worse is, he is not arguing...and this is before the marriage...is there any hope for that man ?

I only found this change of plan the other day, that was the plan for my main bike run for the year, now I need to think of something else.

I am hoping to do more west coast runs this year...only did one last year which was not enough.

Similar with mid week runs...MUST DO MORE.

Do any of you lot have any biking plans for 2014?

Yup, after last years trip to Austria on the Crosstourer from Fyvie (3300 miles round trip), we fancied somewhere where the language wouldn't be as much of an issue but considering where we're going, that might not be true !

So in July we're heading off to get the ferry to Larne, then a couple of days riding down to Cavan in the Republic for a few days touring around then ferry to Fishguard, through South Wales to Ross on Wye then up through Englandshire to the Lakes for a few days, then up to Aberfeldy (stopping all the way) then back home.

2 weeks of glorious sunshine too !!!

Get the garage I have been promising built and not have to sell the bikes to pay for it!!

Get the bikes serviced and ready for another year of hardly being used. :oops

Get a test ride on a Street Triple.

Definitely get out more.. I didn't have much summer left once I moved up to my bigger bike although I am still riding daily for commuting the weather isn't the best for recreational riding at the mo.

I also want to test ride a street triple, I want one so badly although I think it will be another year or two before I can get one.

Turns out I'm inducing a groin strain with my hanging off riding style :???

So, yoga / physio for starters.

Looking to take the S1000 to California SBK School for some personal tuition.

A West coaster after the above would top it off perfectly.

Ulster GP again this year, going a week early with my dad and some friends to tour around the Mourne mountains. Planning on doing a few west coaster's as only got on two last year. Done 6,500 miles on the CBR since picking it up in June, hoping to get a lot more done this year.

Going to NW200 for a week, hopefully get a west coaster or two in as well. Along with blowing the cobwebs away locally every chance I get!

Plan on attending a west coaster as I've not been away on the bike for a long time. More ride outs for sure!

Get over the operation I had over Xmas, ride the bike for a bit, then have the follow up operation early enough to allow some biking time towards the end of the year...

Same as last year, ride around in circles. Hopefully someone will buy the fantastic Falco that's taking up room in my garage too.

Isle of Man tt is on my wish list but am working on convincing the wife for a bit of a highland fling. Failing that I might just do a wee tour to london and back again.

decided to SORN cause im not really using her, would really like to get my main drive spline checked and lubricated as its approaching the mileage to tear it down and do it. No chance of doing it on my street garage though!

technically the bike wont be mine, so hopefully i wont get grief for yet another bike joining the stable.

Definitely want to try out some of the tracks across there and also California super bike school.

I'm going over to California see some family next year so keep in touch over FB as it'll be good to catch up with you out there.

Nope, you can filter in California. One of the few states to allow it.

Worst bit about riding in the states is the heat. I struggled in florida even wearing silly things like shorts and t-shirts!

Yeah, seriously thinking about getting a naked bike. Any suggestions or comments on bikes between 3-6 years old?
