Everytime I am out on the bike I get flashed (lights before anyone says it) by 4x4 drivers... Now my VFR800 is famed for having good lights but nearly every 4x4 driver I see on the other side of the road flashes there lights in a fit of anger at me?! I pop my full beam on to show i'm not using full beam etc...
Standard bike etc... any one else seem to have this issue?

Re: Lights
Hmmm, ok, a few possible reasons...
1. You haven't adjusted the preload on the rear wheel when carrying a passenger.
2. Your missus is causing the balance of the bike to raise the lights.
3. You are riding with the full beam on without noticing.
4. Even with the helmet on, your missus is damn hot and the driver is trying to get her attention.
5. The driver is trying to say "Hey missus, why ride on the back of a bike when you could be riding in comfort in a nice 4x4".
Sorry, that's all I have

Re: Lights
They do it to me when I am on my Versys. As you say, it only tends to be 4*4 drivers or the odd codger in a Big Mans Wanger.

If you're still going with the "way out of your league" stunner you were at AECC with last year then you need to have a word with yourself!!!haiax0 wrote:Or pop the misses on the scales...

Re: Lights
You haven't changed your headlamp bulbs lately have you? Every time I change one I have to reset the headlight aim which is a complete pain (bit like changing the bulbs). My lights used to sit way high and illuminate traffic signs before I found the adjusters.

A great rendition of a compliment and an insult there Matt, nice work!

They are unchanged lights from new.. I will recheck the pre-load settings and maybe swing the bike in by an MOT station to check the alignment is ok as it is not due an MOT untill 2015 (although the lights to me do not seem out of the ordinary, I cant ignore it if it truly is effecting other road users)bill.m wrote:You haven't changed your headlamp bulbs lately have you? Re: Lights
anywhere else you'd be okay if it was just 4x4 drivers, but the proponderance of the things around here!
