Post by dynamo_degs »

Bike turning over but backfiring only, it will not run. had trouble with it miss firing a couple of weeks ago but it came alright after a couple of miles.
It has been sitting in a garage over the cold spell and has been started once but last time nothing.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Fouled plugs, crap/contaminated petrol, blocked fuel filter.

If you can get to the plugs, take them out and clean with a brass brush, gap properly and try it again.
And dont ever switch off the bike while its on the choke. (it is on carbs?)

If it's been standing for a while and it has carbs, then my guess is the carbs have gummed up.

Unleaded fuel drops out a waxy substance if left for lobng periods.

You'll need to take off the float bowls, remove the jets and clean both. Get some new fuel in while you're at it.
