going to fit new chain and sprockets

Post by yammie66 »

I am going to fit a new chain and sprockets, while looking at website for parts they have listed front sprocket bearing, Does this have to be changed when fitting all new parts or just when it is worn.
Advice would be greatly appreciated as new to maintenence of bikes.
At the moment I have a lot of work to do when I get back from offshore so the less I have to do the better.
At the moment my list is
Fork seal
Fairing stickers
Chain and sprockets
Any advice on any of the above would be fantastic as trying to get everything up to scratch for hopefully a good season of riding weather (and missile if your reading this thats the bike i'm riding ok? as i now know how you can twist what I write) :2up

I would suggest that you only need to change the bearing it if it is worn. It is common for people to have the chain adjusted too tight, this can cause premature failure of the bearing and seal. Check for play and or oil leaking.
