Oh dear. Are you one of those people who struggles to change an Arai visor? :anon

I've got Schuberth S1 newer model where the slider for the sun visor is on bottom of helmet left hand side(earlier version was on top of lid) only downside is when wearing many layers sometimes catch this when lifesaviver/turning head to left but quick flick gets it back. Great comfort and quiet though, must admit never looked at the fliptop C's

Shirlaws HAD a special wth C2 Schuberth. £200 instead of £350 Ok It's a last year's model but I think it's brilliant. I really intended buying a Caberg at around £100/£110-ish. They're good value and I liked my previous Caberg. Tremendous if it fits well.

Shirlaws only have a few odd sizes on 'special'.
Hien Gericke have a few on 'special' as well.

Cheers for the comments from you all. :2up

On Friday lunchtime I bought the new lid, the C3, Schumacher's latest dabbling effort with Schuberth. :P

On Thursday night, I went there to buy the C2 as I knew it was on sale, but when I saw the C3 was a flip face thing, that unbalanced my plans, so I had to leave empty handed to rethink :??? my needs v's cash v's the slap from the misses.

I knew Schumacher was involved with developing a new helmet for racing, but I just assumed it was a full face.
The bloke in the shop said that Schumacher wanted a flip face for racing, so he could remain cooler on the pre-race grid.
Makes sense, and there is an amazing difference in temperature between full face and open face.
Although the weight reduction doesn't look much on paper, it was noticeable when comparing the lids in the flesh.
And with the clamed noise reduction…it was too much for me to battle against, especially as I am wearing it every day.

So, yet again, the dark side of commercialism :angryfire won, and I parted with more dosh than my original plan.

First impression after doing 50 miles is good. :2up
The visor appears to be bigger, or more vision to the sides that my Shoei Raid II.
The noise is different, but I did have my panniers fitted (to the bike, not the lid before you start!!), and my top box was over flowing thanks to Zax and his old blower, so my normal cruising speed was not reached.
Bloody strange opening the flip face to remove/fit the lid, but I didn't feel the need to remove it while shopping in the main Tesco store, and it is comfortable and cool with lid open.

Arai RX7 corsair for me, fits snugly on the bonce, and fine and light, great vents.

Mrs Rick_1138 tried on all the brands at Shirlaws, and we found only HJC X.small fitted so thats what she wants.

I used to have a base model OGK and it was really cmfy, but a bit heavier than my corsair, it took a whack to the cheek when i had a little tumble last year and my head was fine.

It seems i have an expensive shaped head though as Arai RX7 was a better fit than the next model down..ah well, at least its only replaced every 5 years!

Dave. Did you buy the C3?? You didn't say what you finally decided on.

As you say Hein Gericke did have a special on the C2 But they were £100 MORE than Shirlaw. OK they were last

year's stock in both outlets--but so what?

Yeh it was the C3
And I do like it :2up

My first impression was that is was a bit quieter than my old Shoei Raid II.

This morning confirmed it.
A couple of times this morning I was going quicker that I though, and when I got into the office when people gave the normal welcome, I could hardly hear them.

Last week I went into Shirlaws first, but they didn’t have my size in the C2, so it didn’t matter what there cost was.
HG had a greater selection of C2’s.

Shame that Shirlaws didn’t have my size :( , as I if the did I would have bought it there and not visited HG and would not have seen the C3, therefore would have been many ££’s better off in the pocket.

OK That's good. As long as it fits well. It'll last a long time.

Can we start haggling about insurance now?? Seeing that we've sorted out the helmets!
