Cheers for the comments from you all.
On Friday lunchtime I bought the new lid, the C3, Schumacher's latest dabbling effort with Schuberth.
On Thursday night, I went there to buy the C2 as I knew it was on sale, but when I saw the C3 was a flip face thing, that unbalanced my plans, so I had to leave empty handed to rethink

my needs v's cash v's the slap from the misses.
I knew Schumacher was involved with developing a new helmet for racing, but I just assumed it was a full face.
The bloke in the shop said that Schumacher wanted a flip face for racing, so he could remain cooler on the pre-race grid.
Makes sense, and there is an amazing difference in temperature between full face and open face.
Although the weight reduction doesn't look much on paper, it was noticeable when comparing the lids in the flesh.
And with the clamed noise reduction…it was too much for me to battle against, especially as I am wearing it every day.
So, yet again, the dark side of commercialism

won, and I parted with more dosh than my original plan.
First impression after doing 50 miles is good.
The visor appears to be bigger, or more vision to the sides that my Shoei Raid II.
The noise is different, but I did have my panniers fitted (to the bike, not the lid before you start!!), and my top box was over flowing thanks to Zax and his old blower, so my normal cruising speed was not reached.
Bloody strange opening the flip face to remove/fit the lid, but I didn't feel the need to remove it while shopping in the main Tesco store, and it is comfortable and cool with lid open.
